ALERT LEVEL TIER TWO - 02-12-20 to the 16-12-20
In accordance to the official gov.uk statement tier two you must not socialise with anybody outside of your household or support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place. This rule is not applicable if your reason for meeting is for business purposes. If you are booking with us you are acknowledging that you are aware of governmental restrictions - this is subject to current policies and further interventions placed by government. ALCOHOL TO BE SERVED WITH SUBSTANTIAL MEALS ONLY
We are only able to serve alcohol with a substantial meal and under the restrictions of table service only.
RULE OF SIX
The Oyster Smack Inn will only be accepting tables of 6 and under while the legislation stands. Please be aware that once seated we ask that you respect the rules and not mingle with other tables, swap seats with other tables or move furniture.
FROM THE 24/09/20 - face coverings must be worn when entering the premises and can be removed once seated. Please be aware that if you need to get up to use the facilities or move around you will be required to wear your face covering. Staff reserve the right to refuse entry to those not wearing face coverings, however we will provide a disposable mask if needed.
TABLE SERVICE ONLY
The bar will function as reception area to be approached for room check-ins and table bookings. Drinks must be ordered at a table where they will be brought over - please do not order drinks at the bar.
10PM ORDERING CUT OFF 11PM CLOSE
FROM THE 02/12/20 - the government has reformed curfew, we are now able to continue serving until 10pm after which you will be able to finish your meals/drinks etc but will not be able to add more items to your bill. We are legally obligated to close between 11pm-5pm - please do not be offended if the staff hand you your bill and ask you to vacate the premises for 11pm.

Our QR codes are displayed to scan on entry should you be using the NHS app- if you do not have access we will require a name and contact number for our records - this is usually taken on booking.
The safety and well being of our guests and associates are of the utmost importance to The Oyster Smack Inn. Below are the precautionary hygiene measures we are implementing as well as steps we are taking to help prevent the spread of COVID19.
Please note: The safety protocols have been developed in accordance with the norms laid down by the World Health Organization (WHO)
Starting on the 19th of October we will be offering a take away menu this will be available for collection only. We ask that when collecting or waiting for your food you adhere to social distancing rules and wear a face covering. You can arrange for your meal to be brought to your vehicle if parking is available or outside if you do not wish to enter the premises. Our team has luckily all stayed in great health and we are all looking forward to welcoming you back. Our booking system is now open, but please be aware that for the sake of everyone’s well being we will ask you to be considerate of governmental guidelines and take notice of our signs and rules.
Staff will be wearing face covering when interacting with customers. Extra wash stations and sanitation points will be set up for staff to clean their hands between handling glass wear and plates.
We have now arranged our tables to maintain social distancing, with fewer tables it is key that guests stick to booking times and leave times.
By spacing out bookings we are doing all we can to avoid any crowding in waiting areas. We will not be accepting any bar service and reserve this area for room check ins only.
Bookings only - please be aware that on booking we require the details of at least one party member who will be present at the table. Details taken on booking may be used for the NHS track and trace system.
Please use the sanitiser gel dispensers located around the premises, especially on entering. Tables are to be booked within the governmental legislation of up to 6 people.
We would ask that once seated, guests do not move around to interact with other tables or move furniture.
All condiments, cutlery and menus have been removed from tables and will be individually sanitised and distributed on request.
All key touch points will be regularly cleaned throughout the day and staff will be trained to uphold personal hygiene, hand-washing, sanitising, and respiratory etiquette.
All glasses, crockery and utensils will be thoroughly washed in industry standard machines which heat to above 70°C. Staff handling these will be thoroughly washing their hands before and after they do so.
CONTACT FREE STAYS
From booking to check out we are minimising all face to face interaction and maintaining social distancing guidelines.
Bookings can be made online with payments are taken remotely and all check in information emailed directly.
You can request to have contact free check ins via key a sanitised key box.
Keys can be left in the same key box for self check-out.
CLEANLINESS & HYGIENE
We ensure the highest possible level of cleanliness by using high quality industrial sterilisation and disinfection products.
After check-out, all unused amenities will be discarded. Special attention will be given to common touch points like door handles, tea and coffee facilities, furniture.
The bed and bath linen are sent to our professional linen company where they are washed in hot water at over 70°C to effectively sterilise them. They will be sorted and stored, where they will remain untouched until needed.
High-touch areas, such as bathrooms, elevator buttons, and remote controls, are disinfected and cleaned frequently.
We will be removing non-necessary amenities from the rooms in order to reduce risk of transmission. However, they will be provided on request.
All bathroom fixtures, fittings and walls will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after every check out.
Records will be maintained pertaining to the occupation and cleaning of the rooms, as well as the staff responsible for the cleaning.
Our teams are regularly being trained on personal hygiene, hand-washing, sanitising, and respiratory etiquette. They will be briefed on taking precautions to keep themselves and others around them safe in the hotel.
They are being updated on new directives relayed by the government, and are also being trained to identify guests and/or other employees who may display signs of illness.
